Peteifer & Pablo

This summer we signed Pablo up for a 6-week agility class. I thought it would be a fun thing for all of us to do while Pablo got some exercise and socializing in the process.  It was indeed fun! We learned a ton and saw improvement each week with the dogs and owners in the class. Since this was a beginner agility class, the dogs learned to navigate the easier apparatus. And the last class, we held a mock agility competition. Here are a few of the highlights:

And the winner is...Pablo, with the fastest agility course time. Yeah!

Maybe next summer we will try the intermediate level!

Sabrina ~ my favorite cat.

Really the only cat I never chased…EVER. I can’t really say why. Just something about her I guess. Yeah…something about her.

Like the way she loved treats almost as much as I do. We often ate treats side by side. And no, I never stole a treat from her. I’ve got manners.

Or the way she could always pull out the “I’m cool” look. I taught her that, you know. She did good, huh?

Maybe the fact that it was always a great day when she came over to visit.

Or maybe the way belly rubs were one of her favorites. At least I think they were.

Or maybe it is really her owner. She is a favorite of mine.

Or possibly the way if a camera was in the room it was taking a picture of her (or myself of course).

Yeah, it is hard for me to admit, but I liked her. I’m gonna to miss her.

This little guy needed a ride from Gerardi to New Circle.  I obliged.

So I have wondered about Pablo and his origins since I first saw him…well, I found his twin, who is also a stray so I am no more knowledgeable than before.  I found this little guy at the Cave Run Story Telling Festival the last weekend in September.

Can you tell which one is Pablo?

You know how some weeks work is ok and other times it’s alright; well for me last week was fantastic. Here is the scoop:

I have been assigned to write a proposal for various bridge and roadway jobs in WV. In order to write this proposal I need pictures of some of the advertised job sites. This meant two days of driving around the middle of coal country southern West Virginia. I decided to make a true trip out of it and brought Pablo along. Together we saw some quaint historic coal towns, some run down coal towns and some active coal towns, along with the five bridges I was assigned to locate and document with pictures. We also stumbled across two state parks – Pinnacle Rock State Park and Twin Falls Resort State Park – and my parents, who were traveling to PA from SC. How cool to have lunch with my parents, camp out, take a hike, spend time in a beautiful state and still put in full work days? Right now I love my job!
